SATURDAY, SEPT. 13TH 10AM – 5PM Slippery Rock
5K Run /
2Mile Walk: Slippery Rock Area Parks
and Recreation will host this annual run. The run will
start at 8:30am at the corner of Elm and W. Cooper Sts.
and will proceed down W. Cooper St. Look for the clearly
marked spot to turn and return to the finish line. The
2 mile walk will start at the red benches in front of
Memorial Park on Main St. and traverse through scenic
Slippery Rock University. Feel free to pre-register
before August 22. On site registration begins at 7:00am
on event day. Call 724-794-8181 for more details.
10 AM –
5 PM Crafters-Vendors-Food Main Street
and Gateway Park
Main Street and Gateway Park will be closed to thru
traffic and parking to provide space for over 100 booths
of crafts, business displays, organizational fund raisers
and unique food vendors.
10 AM –
2 PM Environmental Activities for Kids
of All Ages at 164 S. Main St.
presented by PA Center for Environmental Education (PCEE)
and the Slippery Rock Public Library. Interactive activities
for kids of all ages, including story time! Environmental
resources to help live a “greener” life
will also be available.
10 AM –
5 PM Kids’ Corral! Gateway Park
Fun for All! Featuring: Ambush: The rider is ambushed
on their trusty horse and has to shoot their way out
of trouble in 1 minute. The participant with the highest
score at the end is the winner. Hoppy Horse Derby: Place
your bets! Up to four riders race their horses down
the final stretch of this inflatable race track. Western
Bounce: Age doesn’t matter. Everyone loves to
BOUNCE! Western Slide: Double lane, 28’ high giant
slide. Human Bowling: This hilarious event is a supersized
version of the leisurely game of bowling in which the
player actually sits inside the ball. The player is
rolled down the 30 foot lane toward the five-foot tall,
foam and vinyl pins. Pan for Gold: Roll up your sleeves
and get down on your knees to sift in the water for
your treasure. Boom Blaster: Pump as fast as you can
to inflate your balloons. The first to pop in the detonator
is the winner! Tiki Island Climbing Wall: Two players
can climb this 30 ft. tiki head. Full Court Press: Take
the basketball challenge! Beat the clock to see who
the best Free-Throw champ is! Best score in 30 seconds
wins the game. Plus….. Face Painting, Lollypop
Prize Tree, Golf Challenge, Pet Rock Painting, Duck
Pond, and much more! (Kids’ Corral ticket prices
are .75 each, 2/$1 or 12/$5. Some events are FREE!)

2 PM Balloon Sculpturing – Strolling

SRVFD Chicken Barbeque: Back by popular demand will
be chicken on the grill in front of the Fire Hall. It’s
a sell out every year!
3rd Annual
Brew Fest: NexTier Bank Drive-In
North Country Brewing will host three sessions of beer
and wine tasting of specially invited microbreweries.
Session One is from 11am-1pm and Session Two is from
2pm to 4pm and Session Three is from 5pm-7pm. Call NCB
for more details: 724-794-2337. (Must be 21 to enter
area)

and 2 PM-4 PM New Orleans Riverside
Band: Featuring Ray Ryan performs music at its liveliest.
The rhythms of the blues, blended with traditional jazz
and Cajun music, make the stage come alive with the
excitement of New Orleans music. They will be performing
on the front deck of North Country Brewing.
10 AM-5
PM SRBA Money Machine: At the Slippery
Rock Business Assn. information booth try your hand
at grabbing some cash or great discount coupons from
SRBA business members. Fun for all ages!

PM Sweaty Betty Blues Band
Sweaty Betty performed in 2006 at the Pirate’s
PNC Park at the Monte Cristo Club, as well as the Pittsburgh
Blues Festival at Hartwood Acres, the 8th annual Carnegie
Blues Festival, and the Indiana Music and Arts Festival.
Marcy Brown, vocals, George Kalantzis, guitar, vocals,
Too Tall Billy Brown drummer and vocalist, Duane Davis,
Bass and John DeCola on the keyboards are sure to get
your heart pumping and your toe’s a tapping!

Sixteen Eyes
A VillageFest tradition since 2003, 16 Eyes Band members
include Mike Weinand, Steve Smith, Don Martin, Andy
Stoughton, Chris Buhler, and John DeCola. These veteran
rockers have been entertaining Western PA crowds for
nearly 20 years with a blend of classic rock and blues.
They have performed at Pittsburgh’s Hard Rock
Café and the summer Rock Falls Music Festival.

Family Ventriloquist Show by Helen Hammett
Award winning Helen Hammett is a comedy ventriloquist
who has been making people laugh with her ventriloquist
characters since 1984. She incorporates animal puppets
into her children’s shows that appeal to the young
as well as the young at heart. Helen and Granny, a sassy,
little old lady who loves people and leaves them laughing,
will be strolling around Main St., so make sure you
stop and give them a big Slippery Rock welcome.

“Contemporary-Folk” music from Kenton Kovich
Singer/songwriter Kenton Kovich has been entertaining
audiences with his unique brand of “contemporary-folk”
music for more than twenty-five years. With his warm,
lyrical voice and exceptional guitar ability, Mr. Kovich
takes his audiences on far-off, yet familiar journeys
through foreign lands and places of the heart.

David Lawrence Magic Show
Award winning magical entertainer, David Lawrence, promises
his show will be filled with innovative and mesmerizing
magic with a large dose of comedy. In addition to his
family magic stage show, David will stroll the area
as the magic is performed “in the hands”!
You’ll be amazed and entertained.
2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Big Dog Karaoke
Do we have a Slippery Rock “Idol” in the
crowd? Big Dog Karaoke, one of the fastest growing,
most sought after karaoke companies in Northwestern
PA, will be on hand to find out. Have a favorite song?

Jungle Terry Traveling Zoo
Jungle Terry has worked with animals all his life and
began the Jungle Animal Program in 1990. He will be
bringing 12-15 different animals and reptiles, all which
have been hand raised by his own children or himself.
This is an interactive program, with children actually
being able to touch and hold the animals.
